FORCE Cancer Charity, Hospiscare and Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) have formed a partnership to promote support for local charities at this year’s Great West Run.
They have launched a #keepitlocal campaign to encourage runners taking part in the half marathon around Exeter on October 14 to raise money for them.
The three charities, among the most respected support organisations in the area, are emphasising the importance of keeping it local.

Christopher Hunt, 34, from Dartmouth has been unemployed for an extended period of time after being diagnosed with stomach cancer. After receiving the all clear, Christopher was keen to get back into the work place.
Christopher explains, “My experience with cancer has made me think more seriously about my life. It has completely changed my outlook and perspective. I have a completely different attitude on goals and what I want to do with my life. I knew I wanted to return to work but with no usable references or experience I struggled to find employment.

The Twilight Walk, which takes place on Saturday 7 July 2018 is a five mile or 10 mile ‘PINK FIZZ’ themed sponsored walk along Exmouth Seafront with entertainment around the route, starting from The Maer in Exmouth.
We are also incoporating a new 5K Fizz Run which takes place before the walk.

Hundreds of men braved the plunging temperatures and snow flurries on Saturday to step it out in Hospiscare’s Men’s Walk 2018. Some 900 men – 250 more than last year – signed up for the challenge, making it Hospiscare’s most successful Men’s Walk ever.

The Hospiscare charity shop in Cowick Street, Exeter, has found a new lease of life since focussing on providing mobility aids alongside its usual homewares and clothing.

When Neil Brown, aged 53 from Dunkeswell, started swimming regularly at the age of 28 he had no idea how large a part of his life it would become. The Exeter office of PKF Francis Clark has raised £8797.92 for local adult hospice charity Hospiscare after it was named its charity of the year for 2017.
Seven members of staff at the Exeter accountants undertook the Three Peaks Challenge, one of the most challenging mountaineering events in the UK.
