Sarah Schmitz, House Steward at A la Ronde, the quirky 16-sided National Trust property near Exmouth, is seeking volunteers to join the friendly team.
“A la Ronde is a unique house with a fabulous story to tell. Becoming a volunteer here will give you opportunities to learn new skills or share your own life skills with us. We are looking for room guides, people to help in the shop and visitor reception, as well as fundraisers to sell raffle tickets which fund conservation at the property."
From 8th to 23rd February, A la Ronde, the National Trust property at Summer Lane, Exmouth, hosts its first exhibition of the 2014 season.
Exmouth artist Michael Buckland is known locally for his vibrant and colourful paintings; and this exhibition will consist entirely of works that explore the special atmosphere of A la Ronde, the amazing diversity of its collection and its beautiful setting.

Light reflected from mirrors and windows has caught his painter's eye.
On Sunday 24 November, staff and volunteers invite visitors to come along and enjoy what has become an annual event in the A la Ronde calendar. The third annual community Christmas Tree Festival will remain in place for visitors to enjoy each weekend until 15 December.
Local organisations have been hard at work perfecting their trees which will be displayed in the grounds of the 16-sided National Trust property. The different decorating themes have been kept a closely guarded secret – one that will be revealed when the grounds open at 11.30am.
On Sunday 24 November, A la Ronde, near Exmouth, launches its third annual community Christmas Tree Festival.
Local organisations are invited to bring a decorated tree to be displayed in the grounds until 15 December.
The idea is to raise awareness of your organisation in the local area and to convey key messages about what you do to other participants and A la Ronde’s many visitors during the run up to Christmas.

Starting at A la Ronde, the circular walks take in National Trust’s Lower Halsdon Farm and part of the Exe estuary trail.
It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the farm and wildlife of the area.
The walks are approx 2.5 miles long and take place 10am – 12.30pm and 1pm – 3.30pm. Places are free but numbers are limited so please book in advance by phoning A la Ronde on 01395 265514.
