The April 2017 Concerts in the West series features none other than the supremely talented international cellist Bartholomew LaFollette, who was described by the Irish Times as being: “As free in touching the heartstrings as he was in dashing off dazzling runs.”

Following the phenomenal success of the concert last Christmas which raised nearly £10,000 for CLIC Sargent, on Friday 9th December, La La Choirs will again perform ‘CLIC for Christmas’ at Exeter Cathedral.
For the second year, the event includes running a Devon-wide secondary school choir competition with the winning school choir claiming a featured spot in the concert on the night. Entries were invited from secondary schools all over Devon. The standard of entries was excellent and the panel had a tough job whittling them down to the three finalists.

An effortlessly lazy third album from tousled Canadian blue-waver DeMarco, Salad Days sees a daydreaming melange of lulling guitars glazed with Sunday morning vocals delivered through a hungover smile.
Opening track ‘Salad Days’ is an upbeat lament similarly as ‘Let Her Go’ carries a sunshine feel despite lyrical sadness.
Lo-Fi and nonchalant, the record is brushed with psychedelic tones with ‘Brother’ and stand out track ‘Chamber of Reflection’ exercising this with much of a continuation of the sounds heard on 2012’s ‘2’.
