MORNING RUSH

Young Devon-based indie band Morning Rush have been making a name for themselves with their melodic songs, strong vocal harmonies and piano-rich sound. This gig celebrates the launch of their first album.

Having gained recognition from the legendary Ray Davies, and Steve Knightley (Show of Hands), for their song-writing skills – they are now following in the footsteps of James Morrison and Ben Howard in their aim to put the West Country firmly on the musical map of Great Britain.

A modern take on a traditional 1950s Jamaican sound clash, Exeter Sound Clash brings together sound systems from across Devon for the first ever clash of this scale in Exeter. It involves 4 ‘rigs’ or sound systems battling it out round by round to see who has the best tunes, dubplates, audio quality and decor.

Featuring: Sammy sound from Exeter, Konan sound system from Barnstable, Riddim sound from Paignton, Gridlock sound system from Cullompton and a special appearance from GroundVibes sound system from Totnes who will be playing the bar for what will be one of their last ever...

Exeter Children's Orchestra

Exeter Children's Orchestra return to the Corn Exchange for their summer concert featuring Orchestre Jeune de Haute Bretagne, a visiting French orchestra.

The accomplished French orchestra of young people (14-24 age range), called the L'Orchestre des Jeunes de Haute Bretagne, are visiting Exeter this July. The OJHB are based in Rennes, Brittany, but they have travelled and performed extensively, including Japan, the US and China as well as many European countries. This summer they are the guests of the Exeter Children's Orchestra, and will be performing at several Exeter venues....

MAHLER: Symphony No. 8 (Symphony of a thousand)

Mahler's Symphony No. 8, widely known as the Symphony of a Thousand because of the colossal forces employed (large orchestra, off-stage brass, organ, two adult choirs and a children's choir) is coming to Exeter Cathedral for the first time in many years. This performance follows Amadeus Orchestra's and Bournemouth Symphony Chorus' highly successful pairing for a performance of Mahler's second symphony in Exeter in 2013.

Tedburn Sings West End to r/ock

Stage set for a very special gig in Exeter

Lovers of traditional music are in for a rare treat when a special concert at Exeter Northcott Theatre on 12 July brings together harmonica wizard Will Pound and his band, members of South West-based Wren Band and 25 young musicians from Devon.

Will, recognised as one of the finest harmonica players in the world and often to be heard on BBC Radio 2, will join Wren Band musicians and the children during the first half of the show before he and his band have the stage to themselves for the second half.
