A 1st Mill visit from one of the UK's most original singer/songwriters. Winner of Singer of the Year in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, as well as Best Album and Best Original Song, Chris is widely acknowledged as a brilliant exponent of the topical troubadour form. Originally trained as a chorister, Chris draws on classical influences as well as his deep love for English folk, and is a master at melding traditional song with contemporary themes. Tom McConville with Leonard Brown

Otterton Mill to feature in new series of BBC Two's Celebrity Antiques Roadtrip

Otterton Mill is to feature in the brand new series of BBC Two's Celebrity Antiques Roadtrip.

The show, which airs next Monday (4 November), follows celebrity couple Phil Vickery and Fern Britton, as they scour Devon antique shops for treasures that will make them a profit.

The ancient Mill played host to TV cameras earlier this year, when it provided a stop-off point for Phil and antiques expert James Braxton.

The pair spent several hours at the Mill, learning first how to grind flour using the mill's ancient waterwheel, under the tutelage of Head Miller Brian Hart...

Water power is used to produce their signature stoneground wholemeal flour, continuing in a 1,000-year-old tradition.

Do go along and watch the milling - it's poetry in motion and leaves no carbon footprint! Otterton millers are very happy to explain the milling process to you and answer any questions.

See below for forthcoming milling dates. Milling normally happens in two sessions: from 11am-12.30pm and from 2pm-3pm.

A welcome return for Mill favourites Rag Mama Rag. Husband and wife duo, Ashley and Deborah, deliver a barnstorming mix of 20's and 30's Mississippi Blues and ragtime, alongside original compositions. Playing everything from lapsteel and bottleneck guitar, to dobro, ukulele, washboard, harmonica, spoons and African drum, they'll have your feet tapping and a smile on your face from start to finish!

Another first Mill visit, this time from London bluesman Papa George, whose 30 year career has earned him a well-deserved reputation on the blues circuit as one of its top guitarists and vocalists. In February 2013, he was inducted into the American Blues Hall of Fame - praise indeed! This internationally respected musician plays in the deep blues tradition on steel and acoustic guitars.
