Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home, in Exeter, got in the Christmas spirit by holding their first ever pantomime at the home.

Jack and the Beanstalk was this year’s play of choice! Staff dressed up and got into character and resident Brian even played a part as the Giant. It was hilariously wonderful which had residents, their families and staff in stitches all the way throughout.

A truly fantastic way to end the week!

Following a wild and wacky record-breaking 'Cinderella', Exeter Corn Exchange is going for the classic picture-book magical style for 'Sleeping Beauty'' this Christmas!

The show runs 16 December to 1 January and stars our regular favourites, Matt Finegan and Will Trafford, and they are joined by the fabulous singing star Rachel Modest from BBC’s ‘The Voice’.

Tom Jones described Rachel as ‘the greatest singer the show ever heard’, and her vocal power and comic style will blow you away....

Exeter Northcott Theatre donates Christmas panto tickets to local charity

Exeter Community Initiatives (ECI), a charity based in Exeter, has been given 40 free Christmas pantomime tickets by Exeter Northcott Theatre to distribute to local families.

Exeter’s flagship theatre and the city’s very own merry men, Le Navet Bete, are to collaborate on the creation of a brand-new Christmas production of Robin Hood . Exeter Northcott has an established reputation for presenting large scale, quality pantomimes, with more than 18,000 people of all ages enjoying Beauty & The Beast in 2019.

While the pandemic closed many theatres through 2020 and 2021, the Northcott was able to keep its doors open at Christmas by working with Le Navet Bete to revive their comic take on Treasure Island - which went on to win Exeter Living’s Best...

Exeter Corn Exchange was one of just a handful of venues that was able to present a professional pantomime in 2020, and its acclaimed production of 'The Wizard of Oz' ran safely and with great joy for 32 performances until the run was ended abruptly by the sudden imposition of national lockdown.

Once again this year, all fingers are crossed that 'Beauty and the Beast'- Exeter's only professional pantomime- will be able to complete its scheduled performances and bring all the traditional family fun we need in 2021.

People not able to get to the theatre this year to enjoy a traditional pantomime can recreate the fun and knockabout skills of the art form thanks to an online demonstration by a veteran clown and his trainee son.

The short new videos will help all ages learn the sort of slapstick stunts used by performers for generations so they can put on their own fun shows at home.

Exeter’s Corn Exchange is preparing to lift its curtains for the first time since March as it welcomes audiences to its latest Christmas panto, The Wizard of Oz.

Now in its 11th year, the Christmas pantomime at the Corn Exchange will be the only panto running this holiday season in Exeter, and one of the only in the whole south west region.
