Have your say on new play park equipment for Pinhoe

People are being invited to have their say on exciting new plans to upgrade play equipment at Pinhoe Station Road.

A consultation open day is being held this Friday (22 February), from 11am until 3pm at Pinhoe Station Road changing rooms.

Everyone is welcome to attend and give their views on the proposals.

Plans for the Play Area include new swings, roundabouts, slides and other equipment, as well as new seating and bike racks.

Play equipment provider Wicksteed will be carrying out the consultation.

Burrington Estates New Homes, an award-winning local property developer, has announced the purchase of land for development off Church Hill in Pinhoe, Exeter.

Work to repair footpaths along Pinhoe Road to start next week

Footpaths along Pinhoe Road in Exeter are due to be repaired, starting from next week (Monday 5 February).

The existing paving slabs, between St Johns Road and St Marks Avenue, are being replaced with a bitumen surface over the next six weeks.

Temporary traffic lights will be used outside of peak travel times (9:30am – 3:30pm). Temporary bus stops will be located away from the work area and contractor South West Highways Ltd will help manage pedestrian crossings as and when necessary. At our Woman of the Year ball Penni Ball who runs groups in Pinhoe and Countess Wear, alongside fellow colleagues was congratulated on helping slimmers to lose weight and change their lives by singer and TV presenter Peter Andre.

The team, who run Slimming World groups in Devon, was delighted to get a chance to cuddle up to Peter when he presented the annual Slimming World Awards. The Mysterious Girl singer co-hosted the event with the organisation’s founder and chair Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE.

Pinhoe community project overwhelmed by offers of support from volunteers

When a community project in Exeter asked for people's views and ideas for a new building they didn’t quite expect the overwhelming number of volunteers who came forward to help. People behind plans to create a Community Hub in Pinhoe received 75 offers of help after sending out a survey asking for suggestions on what should be in the building and where it should be located. “With all sorts of skills and new ideas it's very exciting to see this level of support and makes the new Community Hub even more within reach,” said Cllr Duncan Wood, who has backed the initiative right from start....

Police appeal after unprovoked attack on teenager in Exeter

Police are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault where four young men targeted a 17-year-old boy in Exeter.

The teenager was on his bicycle in Pinhoe Road on Monday lunchtime [26 June] when he was set upon by a group of similar aged boys by Polsloe Bridge.

The offenders repeatedly punched and kicked the Exeter boy after knocking him to the ground.

One of them then attempted to steal the bicycle, which was damaged during the incident, before they all ran off towards Hamlyn Lane Playing Fields.

The Exeter Sheep Trail is being launched next week (Fri 25th Nov) when a variety of knitted sheep will be displayed in local shop windows.

The trail is a community project being run by Isca Church and over the past few weeks’ enthusiastic local knitters have been busily creating a fabulous flock of more than 30 woolly sheep.

The sheep are all different shapes and sizes and have their own name, proudly displayed on a brown tag.

Local shops and businesses in Beacon Heath, Pinhoe and Whipton will put the sheep in their display windows – children from local schools,...

Big boost for Pinhoe community project

New homes being built for people in Exeter are set to help generate £100,000 for a community project in Pinhoe.

A report is to come before councillors at Exeter City Council next month recommending £100,000 of funds are allocated to support the development of Pinhole Community Hub.

Pinhoe has been the subject to major new housing developments and the funding comes from New Homes Bonus, money paid to councils by central government for creating and freeing up homes for people to live in.
