Fireaway, the UK’s fastest-growing pizza takeaway chain, has included Devon in its expansion

The company has enjoyed spectacular growth since launching in London in 2016 but much of their growth came during the pandemic. Now they’re opening new locations at the rate of one a week and is set to open its 120th store later this summer.

Over the last year they’ve opened three stores in Devon - in Exeter, Bideford and Barnstaple

In 2021 they won Rising Star Pizza Chain of the Year at the PAPA Awards.

Franco Manca builds on 40,000 Christmas pizza pledge

Sourdough pizza pioneer, Franco Manca, has pledged to turn surplus dough into delicious fresh sourdough bread for those most in need this festive season and beyond. The initiative which will launch on the 9th December and continue throughout 2020 aims to help those going without food or shelter, with loaves being distributed to local soup kitchens, charities and shelters across the UK.

PizzaExpress Delivered straight to your door

PizzaExpress has chosen Exeter to launch its exciting new delivery service on Monday 7th March, and will be giving away £10,000 worth of pizzas in the lead up to launch.

Residents need to look out for mobile waiters whizzing around town on their Italian styled electric scooters, and even knocking on their door.

PizzaExpress Delivered will transport hot, fresh, restaurant-quality pizzas straight to the door of homes and offices within a 10 minute radius of its dedicated site in Sidwell Street, Exeter.

The taste of Italy has arrived in Ottery St Mary courtesy of the Rusty Pig.

Chef Robin Rea has installed a pizza oven at the popular Yonder Street restaurant to provide diners with a delicious alternative to his artisan fare.

“Each pizza will be freshly made using locally-sourced ingredients, as with all the food we prepare,” explained Robin.

“As much of the pizza as possible will be seasonal including the sauce, so we won’t be serving up a traditional Margherita. We have also been experimenting with dessert pizzas – chocolate and marshmallows recently went down...
