Wheelchair football event in Princesshay

A group of NCS participants will be hosting a fundraising event for Whizz-Kidz, the charity which provides disabled children with the essential wheelchairs and other mobility equipment they need to lead fun and active childhoods, in Princesshay this Friday (7 August).

The National Citizen Service (NCS) is a Government-backed initiative designed to inspire young people and help them improve their local communities.

Diners in Princesshay could be celebrating a summer to remember with the centre’s Grand Dine Out competition which will reward four winners with a £1000 gift card to spend in Princesshay.

Visitors to Princesshay spending £35 or more on food in any of its restaurants will have a chance to win a £1000 Princesshay Gift Card, plus the bill back from the 1st August to 28th August 2015. There is no limit on the amount of times diners can enter the competition, so the more times visitors dine, the more chances they have to win.

To celebrate the launch of Princesshay’s Grand Dine Out competition to win £1,000, visitors to the centre are invited to a summer garden party on Friday 31st July in Princesshay Square from 11am – 2pm.

Live music from buskers and family fun with outdoor games including Connect 4 and Jenga will create a garden party feel.

Visitors are invited to sit back on deck chairs and enjoy the atmosphere and sample a selection of menus from some of Princesshay’s favourite restaurants.

Victoria Park Tennis Club is offering free tennis taster sessions for all ages in Princesshay Square on Sunday 5 July from 11am – 2pm to celebrate the iconic Wimbledon championships.

Children had lots of fun in Exeter’s Princesshay on Saturday (6 June) as they baked muffins in a free charity cookery workshop.

After donning chef’s hats and aprons they got stuck in, a shaking and a baking, making new friends and listening to the crazy instructions from head chef Joe Mann who runs Fun Kitchens.

Exeter bee project launches Queen Bee rearing programme

Princesshay’s City Bee project has launched a brand new Queen Bee rearing programme as part of the centre’s continued development of its rooftop environmental scheme.

The project, now in its third year, houses 4 hives with approximately 60,000 bees working them daily.

The Queen Bee rearing programme is a new innovative idea for the Princesshay City Bee Project and will be led by head beekeeper Jason Wallis of WeeTree Nurseries. The X Factor auditions are back on the road in search of the best and freshest vocal talent as it looks to uncover the nation’s next big singing star.

The UK’s favourite singing show will be visiting Exeter on Friday 22 May with auditions taking place in Princesshay. Auditions will take place from 9am – 6pm.

Princesshay launches charity raffle

Age UK Exeter, Princesshay’s charity of the year, has launched its charity raffle of a new smart forfour car to raise money for local people. Tickets can be purchased from the centre with the draw being held on Christmas Eve.
