Exeter Chiefs have bolstered their ranks ahead of the new season by recruiting former Harlequins forward Stan South.

South was due to join Championship outfit Coventry this season on a two-year deal following his release from Harlequins, but following injuries at the end of last season to both Price and Witty, the Chiefs have themselves swooped to recruit the...

Baxter reacts to Champions Cup draw

Exeter Chiefs newcomer Stuart Hogg won't have to wait long for a reunion with former club Glasgow Warriors after the two clubs were drawn alongside one another in today's Heineken Champions Cup draw in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Picked out as one of the five Tier One sides, the Chiefs have been drawn against the Warriors, French outfit La Rochelle and Gallagher Premiership rivals Sale Sharks in a highly competitive Pool 2.

Former internationals Bryan Habana and Dimitri Yachvili conducted the draw, which brings together the top 20 club sides in European Rugby.

Chiefs book Premiership final place

London’s Calling again for Rob Baxter and his Exeter Chiefs side as they powered their way into a fourth successive Gallagher Premiership Rugby Final with victory over Northampton Saints at Sandy Park.

As it was this time last year - and also in 2016 - reigning European champions Saracens will once again provide the sizeable hurdle that the Devonians will have to overcome in the end of season showpiece at Twickenham.

The Chiefs, though, will travel in confident mood, particularly given the way they dispatched the Saints in the second half of this encounter.

Exeter Chiefs 40 Northampton Saints 21 match report

If this was the appetizer, then next week’s main course should serve up another treat as Exeter Chiefs and Northampton Saints will battle it out for a place in this season’s Gallagher Premiership Final at Twickenham.

Rob Baxter’s side bagged top spot – for a second successive season – producing a ruthless second half showing to eventually stymie the threat of the visiting Saints, who had twice taken the lead through converted tries from Piers Francis and Rory Hutchinson.

On both occasions, the Devonians responded in kind. First, Henry Slade glided over for their opener,...

He capped his first season in England by helping his new club to become Premiership champions for the first time in the club's history, defeating Wasps after extra-time at Twickenham. Then, last season, he was on...

Exeter Chiefs Director of Rugby Rob Baxter insists he’s edging ever closer to putting in place his squad for next season after two more of his current stars agreed new contracts with the club.

Having already tied up the futures of a number of his squad in recent weeks, scrum-half Stuart Townsend has committed his future to the club until at the least the summer of 2021 with a new two-year deal, while fellow number nine, Jack Maunder, has also penned a fresh one-year contract with the club.
