New Go Together Club is just the ticket for Exeter theatregoers

Exeter Northcott Theatre has launched a club for people who’d love to go the theatre if they had someone to go with.

The Go Together Club is free to join and makes the whole experience of a theatre trip more enjoyable than going alone.

The club is the idea of the Northcott’s Development Committee, on which Tricia Cotton and Michael Terry serve as volunteers. It was trialled with a limited number of performances last autumn and proved so successful that the number of shows is being increased for the Spring 2015 Season.

Simon Bates to host Good Morning Devon

BBC Radio Devon today (2 December) announced Simon Bates as its new Breakfast presenter, his new show will start on Monday 12 January 2015. Simon, who lives on a farm near Tiverton, mid-Devon, is joining BBC Radio Devon to present a mix of news and music each weekday morning between 7.00 and 10.00am.

As ever, quality local journalism will be the cornerstone of the new programme, and Simon Bates will use his interviewing skills honed over decades of broadcasting to interview the day’s newsmakers. Simon will also be out broadcasting from around the county and hearing from BBC Radio...

Roald Dahl from Boyhood to Books

An examination of the work of Roald Dahl and how his childhood experiences might have influenced his writing. The show, performed by Nick Wood, will compare events described in tales from Roald Dahl’s childhood with characters in his books. He suggests how we all have something within ourselves to write about and that these stories should be told. The show will include the use of puppets inspired by the illustrations of Quentin Blake, and some audience participation.

New comedy club to open in Exeter

A brand new comedy club is opening in Exeter 's Lemon Grove on Friday 17 October.

Five top comedians from the national stand-up circuit will be on stage at Exeter's Comedy Grove, the newest comedy club to the city, bringing down the best acts on the national stand-up circuit, with many who have appeared on shows such as Live at the Apollo and Russel Howard's Good News.

An Exeter man will take part in a brand new ITV quiz show today.

Presented by Gethin Jones, The 21St Question is a bold new ITV quiz show featuring exactly 21 questions.

The game sees 11 contestants compete in “winner stays on” rounds which test the strategy and wits of players to the limit. The aim? To get onto the power spot and control the game. However, only one of the players will successfully fend off all the competition, and whoever is left standing faces a chance to win big – provided they can answer The 21St Question.
