Music 4 Life Summer Music is taking place in the Phoenix Youth Club in Wonford on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 August.

It is being run by Wren Music, Devon's leading community music organisation.

There will be loads of music making and singing. It will be great fun. We provide lots of instruments for you to try and join in with, or you can bring your own acoustic ones along!

Music starts at 10.30am and the day ends at 3.30pm The group is for 8 to 18 year olds...

...and it is all absolutely FREE!

Black Voices, a Birmingham-based performance ensemble renowned for its rich, powerful harmonies and stunning arrangements, are coming to Exeter on Saturday 8 June to do a concert and public workshop supported by St Thomas Gospel Choir.

Be a chorister for the day at Exeter Cathedral

Do you know a boy or girl who loves music and would like to see what it is like to be a chorister for a day?

Following previous successful Chorister Open Days, Exeter Cathedral is hosting a similar opportunity for children on Saturday 17th November 2012. This is open to boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 9 who enjoy singing. It is a great chance for young people to be encouraged and coached by professional musicians in an inspirational setting.

Military Wives Choir launch album in Princesshay

The Military Wives Choir wowed shoppers when they performed in Princesshay to celebrate the launch of their second album, Stronger Together.

Twenty-eight of the wives spent the day being pampered by Princesshay retailers before the album signing and performance, on Monday (November 5).

Some wives had their hair cut and styled at SAKS hair salon, others had hand pampering at Molton Brown and others had relaxation treatments at The Cove. And then there were the makeovers at various beauty counters in Debenhams for some of the wives to enjoy.

‘Maddy’ is a story within a story told by four actors. Maddy lacks confidence and has had a bad day at school. Her Grandfather has just moved in, the last thing she wants to do is help him unpack his boxes. But, when Maddy opens a very special box, Grandfather lets her into a secret.

‘Maddy and the Invisible Band of Groovers’ uses storytelling, puppetry and songs to celebrate diversity, difference and friendship.

A local youth choir is recruiting for new members as it gears up for the new term. Exeter Singing Roots is a vocal ensemble for young people aged 8 - 16, directed by professional singer and singing leader, Sarah Owen from Wren Music.

The choir meets on Thursdays in term-time at the St. Sidwell’s Centre, Exeter and is an opportunity to develop your musical skills, make new friends, enjoy using your voice as well taking part in performances.
