Charity golf day raises nearly £3,500 for WESC Foundation

On Friday 10 May, 60 golfers met at Crediton Downes Golf Club to take part in WESC Foundation’s annual charity golf day.

Service receives RoSPA gold award for occupational health and safety

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service has had its approach to occupational safety and health recognised in an awards scheme run by the safety charity, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Devon and Cornwall Police are growing more concerned for the safety of Magdalena Krawiec (pronounced Crab-ic), a 20-year-old Polish woman missing from Paignton and are renewing their appeal to the public to help trace her. Magdalena was last seen on CCTV leaving the place she was staying in Paignton at 8pm on Tuesday 14 May 2013. Staff of St Leonard's Primary School in Exeter are taking part in a four- or nine-mile sponsored walk across Dartmoor on 9 June in order to raise funds to create a permanent reminder of Billie Bainbridge's time in the school's Foundation year. 35,000 fewer jobs in South West, says TUC as general secretary Frances O'Grady visits region

There were 35,000 fewer jobs in the South West at the end of last year than before the recession, according to the latest workforce Jobs figures published by the Office for National Statistics.
