There’s been another increase in the number of children applying for a place at a secondary school in Devon this September.
Devon County Council today announced it was offering more than 98 per cent of families one of their three preferences.
In all, 94.1 per cent of the families who applied have been offered their first preference school with 3.7 per cent allocated their second preference and 0.4 per cent their third preference.
This means a total of 98.2 per cent of applicants were offered one of their three preferences.

Exeter College students are celebrating after achieving the college's best ever International Baccalaureate (IB) results.
Five college students achieved 40+ points - the equivalent of five A Levels at A/A* - putting them in the top five to ten per cent of students in the entire world.

Exeter School is celebrating the opening of its new indoor pool.
Chairman of Governors and former pupil Andrew King officially opened the pool during a ceremony on 28 June.
A generous donation from an anonymous benefactor enabled Exeter School to build the first-class, 25-metre four-lane pool for the benefit of Exeter School pupils and local schoolchildren.
