Police have issued CCTV images of two suspects following a theft of cash from the Golden Sands Holiday Park in Dawlish Warren. The offenders entered the premises via a door to the bar and then entered the office where they stole £13,000 in cash from a safe. One offender is described as being a white man in his early to mid twenties, approximately 5’10” in height, slight to medium build. He has dark hair which was covered with a grey baseball cap. Police warn motorists to watch out for opportunist car criminals

Motorists are being urged not to leave valuables on show in their vehicles when visiting beauty spots in Devon and Cornwall.

The warning comes from police after thieves targeted a vehicle on Dartmoor on Monday 6 May.

Thieves forced the door of the locked Nissan Micra in a car park between Poundsgate and Dartmeet around 6pm and stole a handbag.

The handbag contained a driving licence, bank cards, a small amount of cash and a £400 iPhone 5.

Appeal after £70,000 taps stolen in Newton Abbot

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a large quantity of taps from a Newton Abbot scrap company.

The taps – valued at £70,000 – were taken from a scrap metal yard on Kingsteignton Road between 5pm and 9pm.

Police believe that a large red and white truck was used in the raid with possibly the occupants of a dark car and a small white panel van also involved.

Police in Exmouth are appealing for information following the theft of silverware from the church of St Michaels & All Angels in Otterton, East Devon sometime between Sunday 20th January and Thursday 24th January.

The offender(s) entered the church during daylight when the Church was unlocked and stole silverware from the vestry.

Police are appealing to the public to help them identify a man who detectives would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a purse, belonging to an elderly lady.

It is understood that the victim, who is from the Teigmouth area, lost her purse on Thursday 6th December.

A recent study conducted by luxury travel company, eShores, shows that a third of UK tourists have had their belongings stolen while on holiday.

The study asked 1250 holidaymakers information about which destination they have had belongings stolen, what items they’ve had stolen, and the value of their loss. This gave shocking insights into the scale of theft while on holiday, with 58% of the thefts occurring to people while holidaying in Europe.

Appeal for information after theft at Newton Abbot ASDA

Police in Newton Abbot have released an image of a man they would like to identify in connection with a theft at a supermarket in the town.

The incident took place at around 1400 hours on Saturday, 15 September 2012 at the ASDA store on Highweek Street.

A man used the self-scan till, voided the transaction and left the supermarket without paying for the goods worth around £42.
