Comedian and author Tony Hawks (Q.I. Radio 4’s Just A Minute and I’m sorry I haven’t a Clue, author of Round Ireland With A Fridge) will be trying out his new and extremely silly quiz/game show called “Let’s Consult The Bucket”. Come and be a part of the live audience.

The show will not be broadcast – it is simply a tester to see if it works. Either way – fun is guaranteed – along with prizes for some of the audience.

Tony Hawks to host first Cathedral quiz night

Comedian and author Tony Hawks is to host Exeter Cathedral’s first ever Big Quiz Night.

Tony, who is regular on the Radio Four show I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue and is author of several best selling books, including Round Ireland with a fridge, will host the evening on 1st October.

Teams of up to eight are invited to enter for a limited number of available spaces.

The ticket price also includes a hog roast from Kenniford Farm. And no quiz would be complete without a licensed bar to help fuel those thinking caps!

Tennis charity serves up free lessons

National sports charity ‘Tennis For Free’ has served up an ace for Exeter and the surrounding area by investing in a 50 week programme of free tennis lessons hoping hundreds of people across the area can make a racket at the city’s Heavitree Pleasure Ground courts.

The timing of the launch couldn’t be better as the World’s top players will be playing at the most famous tennis tournament of them all - Wimbledon. Fresh from cycling around Devon with a miniature pig, comedian Tony Hawks combines story-telling, stand up, musical comedy and film clips to create two hours of fun when he comes to Exeter’s Northcott Theatre next week.

Tony is a new resident of Devon having falling in love with the county when he visited it for a screening of one of his films and is delighted to be playing in Exeter.
