As if this wasn't exciting enough, the dates of the eagerly anticipated BBC adaptation of du Maurier’s novel ‘Jamaica Inn’ have been confirmed. This special three-part series starts on Easter Monday at 9pm on BBC One and will run for three consecutive evenings (21 – 23 April 2014).

Heavy fog disrupts Exeter travel

Heavy fog is casuing delays on the M5 between Exminster and Exeter this morning.

The met office has issued a yellow weather warning predicting the fog to remain for much of the morning.

The Met Office's Chief Forecaster said: "Fog patches will affect some parts of the yellow area as early as Monday evening. However, there is potential for fog to become more widespread overnight and into Tuesday morning. Some places within the yellow area will not see fog, but where it forms it could be locally dense with visibility falling below 200 metres.

Council to save £760,000 from public transport

Devon County Council is planning to reduce its public transport spending by around £760,000 during 2014/15.

While the majority of the money has already been accounted for there is still around £100,000 in savings left to be found.

While there are currently no plans to withdraw any bus routes the council the council is seeking public opinion on other money saving proposals.

Flybe's majority shareholder sells entire stake

The majority shareholder of Exeter based airline Flybe has sold its entire shareholding.

The 48.1% stake owned by the Walker Family Trust through Rosedale Aviation Holdings Ltd was sold for £25.2m.

The move marks the end of a long standing relationship between the airline and the Walker family.

Late steel magnate and former owner of Blackburn Rovers Jack Walker bought the majority share of Jersey European airways in 1983, which was rebranded as Flybe in 2002.

Exeter Airport passenger numbers exceed expectations this summer

Exeter Airport can reflect on a busy summer of 2013 where passenger numbers from May until October exceeded expectations and were over forty thousand up on the same period in 2012. The overall inbound and outbound passengers for the five months totalled 415,618, an increase of 11%. Devon County Council has been shortlisted in this year’s UK Bus Awards.

The County Council is among four finalists in the running for Local Authority Bus Project of the Year Award for its continued work on "Integrating Transport" in Devon.
