Moor Otter sculptures officially unveiled

On Monday 5th December, the highly anticipated Moor Otters public arts initiative was officially launched at a special event which brought regional businesses and artists together at Bovey Castle for the unveiling of the otter sculptures.

The 100 sculptures will all be uniquely decorated with designs from 100 selected artists, and are set for release on and around Dartmoor next summer, creating a trail for the public to explore.

Safety on Dartmoor day

Local rescue charities and branches of emergency services, National Trust and Dartmoor National Park Authority are holding their third safety on Dartmoor day at Lydford Gorge near Tavistock on Sunday 22 June between 10am and 5pm.

On the day, there will be the opportunity to look round fire engines, police cars and ambulances plus meet the local fire fighters, police officers, air ambulance crew and rescue dogs. More funding for a sustainable future on Dartmoor

The most recent meeting of the Dartmoor Sustainable Development Fund (DSDF) panel has resulted in Dartmoor National Park Authority supporting five exciting new projects across Dartmoor.

Okehampton College, Brimpts Farm, South West Devon Community Energy Partnership, Growing Our Future and Camphill Community in Buckfastleigh, have together benefited from £31,350 of support from the DSDF to deliver projects that will help reduce energy use, develop local tourism business opportunities and promote local food.
