Organisers of this month’s Budleigh Music Festival have announced a last minute change to their line-up, after their ‘Rising Star’ performer had to pull out due to illness.
The festival’s Rising Star for 2023, pianist Ethan Loch, was due to perform at the festival on Monday 3 July, but withdrew from the event last week.
Now organisers have secured another young musician, Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, to perform in Ethan’s place.

A Victorian croquet pavilion that has stood for over 120 years could be demolished in less than a fortnight unless the owners are persuaded to think again.
The Croquet Club at Budleigh Salterton has informed the council of their intention to demolish the timber-framed building as a recent surveyor’s report found it to be structurally unsound. Police are appealing for witnesses after a substantial amount of gold jewellery was taken during a burglary at an address in Budleigh Salterton.
Offenders entered the home on Armytage Road in Budleigh Salterton on Monday 1 May 2017 between 11.30am and 4pm.
They managed to escape with a large amount of Indian wedding gold jewellery.
Police are investigating the burglary and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the offence.
