The rollout of COVID and flu vaccines for older adults, care home residents and those with long term health conditions kicked off this month as the NHS drive to protect against a ‘tripledemic’ of viruses this winter continues.

Exeter Chiefs involved in charity weekend to support rugby players

Exeter’s match against Harlequins will be dedicated to providing support to rugby charity, Restart Rugby.

St John Ambulance, the leading first aid charity, is looking for enthusiastic and committed people in locations across Devon to volunteer as Youth Leaders and Youth Helpers. Successful applicants will need to give a minimum of two hours each month and will work with the charity’s youngest volunteers, the Badgers (aged 5 to 11) and Cadets (aged 10 to 17), and guide them as they develop into the next generation of first aiders.

Burger Joins the Pack at Exeter Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs have added depth to their front row with the signing of prop Ethan Burger at the outset of the 2024/25 season.

UK’s biggest food collection calls for volunteers to support charities

With food banks and charities facing continued levels of need this winter, people are being urged to give the gift of their time to take part in the UK’s biggest food donation drive.

The 12th annual Tesco Winter Food Collection is taking place in all Tesco stores from November 28th to November 30th. Tesco’s charity partners, Trussell and FareShare, are calling for volunteers to sign-up to support the event in store as both charities are providing a lifeline in response to record levels of need.

Stagecoach South West introduces timetable changes

This Autumn local bus operator Stagecoach South West are introducing changes to some bus services within the region.

The changes, largely from Sunday 3rd November 2024, include some reliability and punctuality improvements as well as new tendered services in partnership with Devon County Council. Night buses also return in North Devon and Torbay for the festive period from the end of November.

In Torbay temporary timetables are introduced during the next phase of redevelopment works around Torquay Harbourside.
