An incredible £11,469,389 of National Lottery funding went to projects in Exeter in 2020/21, according to new figures released today to mark the launch of this year’s National Lottery Awards.

A total of 106 National Lottery grants were allocated in this period, providing crucial support to arts, sports, heritage and community organisations in Exeter.

Leading film critic Mark Kermode and acclaimed filmmaker Carol Morley are the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum’s first patrons.

Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter invited Monkerton Community Primary School over for an Easter Egg Hunt in the garden. Cumberland Grange is very lucky to have such a great sized garden, making it perfect for Easter Egg Hunts!

Staff and residents hid 80 colourful eggs around the garden for the reception children to find, and they found every single one! One of Cumberland Grange’s residents Maureen said how much of a privilege it was to be a part of such a lovely day. Maureen took on the task of handing out the Easter Eggs to the children at the end.

Six Degrees, a female-only networking organisation based in Exeter, has announced a partnership with locally based, independent holiday lettings company, Luxury Coastal and has also confirmed its long anticipated membership offering is launching soon on 12 May.

It’s time to Join The Club!

Almost 30 community and voluntary organisations in an East Devon town are joining in a one-day bonanza to win new supporters and volunteers.

The Join The Club event on Sunday May 8, organised by the Love Topsham group, will have stalls and taster sessions from organisations as varied as the town’s Sailing Club, Walking Rugby Group, Flower Society and a range of fitness groups.

It’s a free event for the clubs and visitors, and it’s based on Topsham’s Matthews Hall from 10am until 3pm on the day, while there are taster sessions and demos at other locations in the town....
