Devon & Cornwall Police is sending a message to anyone who thinks that it is OK to spike another person “for fun” or more sinister purposes: it’s an abhorrent crime and can have a significant, traumatic impact on victims, and can have severe consequences for perpetrators.

Every summer, Blue Cross in Devon sees a rise in the number of unwanted and abandoned kittens arrive at the animal rehoming centre. Some have been abandoned by their mothers and left to fend for themselves and others who were an unplanned litter that owners cannot care for.

Without their mother, young kittens need round-the-clock care and hand feeding every few hours until they are strong enough. Some kittens arrive needing urgent vet care, suffering from flea anaemia which makes them extremely weak, can lead to blindness if left untreated and even death.

A new Retirement Living development coming soon to Exeter is to be named after a local Exeter plant collector.

Major store refit brings enhanced experience for Exeter people

ONE of Exeter’s leading stores will be undergoing a £150,000 refit to enhance customers’ experience.

The Specsavers store’s significant makeover will include a digital front window display screen, improved lighting using energy-saving LEDs, new up-to-date displays to illuminate the glasses frames, and upgraded desks and chairs, as well as new signage and fascia to come outside.
