The genius that is Phil Beer, the dazzling multi instrumentalist with Show of Hands, is about to take his “folk and roll” band on the road for the first time in three years – kicking off with three shows in his home county of Devon. A man used to juggling musical hats, he will this year be appearing solo, with the all-star Feast of Fiddles, the Bully Wee Band and the Phil Beer Band, as Show of Hands take a rare break until the autumn. On 16 February 2014 passed away peacefully in Exeter Hospice aged 63 years of Huxham.

Beloved son of Betty Raven, son of Gordon, loving partner of Caroline, father of Brandon, and a much loved brother of Frank. Will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.

Special thanks to all the staff at the RD&E Hospital and Exeter Hospice who cared for Michael.

Passed away on Saturday 1 February 2014 after a short battle with cancer at the RD&E Hospital, surrounded by his family, having followed his son Sam’s team Saints win against Fulham during the afternoon.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and especially by his children Clare, Holly, Sam and Lou, his mother Dot, sister Susan and his wife Sal.

The funeral will be held at Crediton Parish Church on Thursday 13 February at 3pm.
