Passed peacefully away at Fernihurst Nursing Home, Exmouth on 13th January 2014 aged 82 years.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Children ‘GO BLUE!’ with Ecover Schools Blue Mile!

Children up and down the country will ‘GO BLUE!’ to celebrate the world’s oceans in the Ecover Schools Blue Mile – a nationwide event which is also raising money for the Marine Conservation Society.

The idea is that for a day, schools will organise a project that will teach children about the sea, seashore and marine wildlife. The Ecover Schools Blue Mile has produced a range of resources and ideas for cross-curriculum activities – some in the classroom and some outdoors.

New evidence indicates glaciers present 11,000 years later than believed

Research led by a scientist from the University of Exeter has shown that Britain was home to small glaciers within the last few centuries – around 11,000 years later than previously thought. When it comes to horse racing, there is no doubt that the long-standing favourite for the fans is the Grand National. Known as ‘the world’s greatest steeplechase,’ the Grand National is run over 4 miles 3 ½ furlongs, almost two circuits of the famous Aintree racecourse, and with competitors jumping 30 fences along the way. Peacefully on the morning of Sunday 12 January 2014, David aged 81 years passed away.

Beloved dad of Carol, Bridget, Christine, Rachel, Andrew and David, father-in-law to Steve, Bob, Nicki and Naomi, a grandad to nine.
