Residents at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, were delighted to be able to enjoy a short trip to the local garden centre, following the latest guidance from the government. The recent changes mean that care home residents can now participate in low-risk, out-of-home visits without having to self-isolate on their return to the care homes.

Lopes Masonic Lodge based in Exeter were delighted when their application to the WAKE fund on behalf of Kenton Force was successful.

Kenton Force led by Peter White and his team raise between £8 and £12 Thousand a year for FORCE EXETER the well known and worthy cancer support charity. They do this with the support of a Parish population of 1,300 people by hard work and determination organising in Non Covid19 times, Big Breakfasts, Sponsored Walks, 24hr dog walks, Cream Teas and Fares and also with the traditional collecting bucket most of which have had to be cancelled this year...

Feedback invited on latest E4 cycle route proposals

Proposals for the next section of the E4 strategic cycle route along Union Road in Exeter have gone out for public consultation.

Devon County Council is asking for feedback on its plans to extend the walking and cycling route, which will help tackle congestion and reduce carbon emissions.

The scheme proposes to provide a new two-way cycle route along the north side of Union Road, and for the majority of this route, cyclists will be separated from pedestrians, but where it’s not possible a shared path will be introduced.

MPs left surprised by 'slicing apart' of constituencies in boundary commision proposals

MPs from Exeter and East Devon have been left surprised by proposals that would see a major shake-up of their electoral wards.

Burnthouse Lane, parts of Countess Wear, and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital are set to be moved ‘out of Exeter’ under proposals for a shake-up of England’s electoral map in 2023.

While Devon will gain an extra MP as part of the proposals, albeit in a county boundary between Somerset and Devon in the new Tiverton and Minehead constituency, as a result of the boundary changes, parts of what is the existing Exeter constituency will be moved...

Work starts to build 74 new homes at two former school sites

Work has started to build 74 new homes across two former school sites in Exwick.

Exeter City Councillors gave the go-ahead last June for LiveWest to build 43 homes on the former Exwick Middle School site in Higher Exwick Hill and 31 homes on the site of the former Foxhayes School in Gloucester Road.

Now work has begun to build a mixture of social rent and shared ownership homes across both sites.

LiveWest, the largest housing association across the South West, has joined forces with Classic Builders on the 18-month project.
