Officers investigating an assault at Dawlish station, where a man was head-butted by another man, are today appealing for witnesses.

At approximately 8.30pm on 25 August, there was an altercation on platform one at the station between two men. The victim, who has not yet contacted police, was head-butted by the suspect who then walks away. A short while later he returns, and kicks and punches the man several times before boarding a train on platform one. CPRE Devon and Devon Norse join forces to clean up Exeter’s Sowton Estate

A staggering amount of litter was collected in just one hour on Exeter’s Sowton Industrial Estate last Friday in a joint litter-pick by the Devon branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England and Devon Norse.

Twenty people took part in the clean up in the area around Bittern Road, where Devon Norse is based. Members of CPRE Devon joined company employees and provided them with the necessary gear: litter-picking sticks, high vis jackets, gloves and bags.

CCF, a leading insulation and interior building products distributor, has celebrated one year of trading at its Exeter branch, located on Blackmore Road in Hill Barton Business Park. An app which gives people real-time information about their local urgent NHS services has been shortlisted in two of the most prestigious national awards: the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards and the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards. The app, NHSquicker, shows people in Devon and Cornwall up-to-date waiting times for the five closest emergency departments and minor injuries units, as well as how long it would take them to get there, based on the user’s location. Princesshay have a free family event on 22nd September in celebration of bees. The event includes artwork, family workshops and tours from 10am to 4pm to celebrate the centre’s rooftop garden, home to thousands of bees.

Five years of Help to Buy has helped 650 homebuyers in Exeter

Figures just released for the first full five years of Help to Buy in Exeter have revealed that almost 650 homebuyers have used the government scheme to buy their new home.

The figures show that 649 people in the city have taken advantage of the scheme since it was launched in April 2013.

Sara Parker, sales director for Barratt Exeter, said the first five years of Help to Buy have had a huge impact on the property market.
