May Day online premiere for Hell's Bells - a film unearthing the dark side of Morris Dancing

Hell's Bells, a short film produced by Devon-based film and theatre company, Wandering Tiger, will receive its online premiere on May Day, Tuesday 1 May 2018. Made with the support of Creative England and the BFI NET.WORK, the film tells the story of a young woman who has been brainwashed by Morris dancers. Created in Devon with a local cast and crew, film locations include The Tally Ho community pub, Poltimore House, and Hearn Field in Combeinteignhead. Students visit cycle route being developed in Exeter

Students from Exeter College and St Luke's College have enjoyed a site visit to the new cycle route currently being constructed on Cumberland Way and Pinhoe Road in Exeter.

The two-way cycle path will form part of a strategic cycle route connecting new developments on the east of Exeter to the university and the city centre.

Work is progressing well on the E4 route, which will be the first two-way, bi-directional cycle track in Devon, and students were able to see first hand how the route is being built.

Police investigate rape in Tiverton

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following allegations of a rape in Tiverton.

The incident took place in Collipriest Road near the junction with Little Silver at around 2.30am on Sunday 22 April.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 5’ 6” tall with a stocky build.

A Devon and Cornwall police spokesperson said: “It is believed that the offender followed the victim from Tiverton town centre.

“We believe that three people walked past the victim prior to the attack on the way out of Tiverton town centre and got into a car nearby....

A nationwide campaign launches today, calling on victims of unwanted sexual behaviour to report offences to police, no matter how small.

Every Report Builds a Picture highlights how multiple reports from different people can help BTP ‘build a picture’ of offenders – even if some of those cases don’t make it to court.

This is the second phase of the Report It To Stop It campaign, which was launched in 2015 to tackle under-reporting of sexual offences.
