Third-dose boosters offer long-term protection from COVID-19, study run in Exeter finds

Third dose COVID-19 booster vaccines offer lasting protection after several months, according to the latest results of a nationwide trial.

The NIHR-supported COV-BOOST study, run across England and Wales at sites including Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, part of Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (RDUH), has provided data to underpin the UK’s booster programmes since 2021.

A top Devon primary care vet practice is throwing open its doors for one day only so pet owners can meet the team and view its first-class facilities.

Police investigate spate of aggravated burglaries in Exeter

Police are currently investigating two incidents of aggravated burglary which happened in the St Thomas area of Exeter.

The first incident took place at the Dawn ‘til Dark Premier Store, on Princes Street East, at around 9pm on Monday 10 April. A man, dressed in grey hoody, black trousers with a concealed face, entered the store and demanded money from the till.

Exeter’s homelessness charities in fresh bid to halt £1.5m budget cut, after more than 900 objections are received

Representatives of charities supporting homeless people in Exeter will address scrutiny councillors next week, hoping to persuade Devon County Council to drop plans to axe its £1.5m homelessness prevention budget.

This week is international Bike Week (5-11 June) and this initiative will reduce waste and offer more people access to cycling.
