Devon County Council’s new ‘Heritage Centre’ was officially opened this morning (22nd October) by Council Chairman Jerry Brook. Brook told the impressive number of people attending the launch, "What is here, this combination of all the records is probably one of the most important facilities open in the county today.

The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales has awarded a £16,000 grant over two years to St Petrock’s homelessness charity based in Exeter.

St Petrock’s helps people who are homeless, or vulnerably housed, lead more settled and fulfilling lives. The charity offers a range of emergency support, accommodation, prevention and educational services aimed to assist individuals back into healthier and more positive lifestyles.

Every year, since 1973, the Exeter Flotilla has held a Trafalgar Day Service in Exeter Cathedral to celebrate Lord Nelson’s great victory in 1805.

This year on Trafalgar Day, Sunday the 21st October the White Ensign will once again fly over the Cathedral.
