Open Farm Sunday at Quickes Farm
Quickes Traditional is celebrating farming and food this June. This annual national project has been running at Home Farm since 2011.
Quickes will welcome visitors to enjoy an array of farming activities, artisan foods and of course, Quickes Traditional Cheeses.
A fantastic opportunity for everyone, young and old, to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the farm – Open Farm Sunday gives a unique insight into the workings of the dairy and the devotion that goes into creating award winning Quickes cheese.
Free to attend and running from 11am until 4pm, Open Farm Sunday takes place on Sunday 8 June.
Visitors can see the ‘Cheese Cathedral’ watch the milking, learn about the New Zealand style grazing system for the cows, see the tractors and other farm machinery, operate the telehandler, trailer rides, enjoy a hog roast and sink a couple of cold ciders at Home Farm. Please dress appropriately – wellies recommended!
The Farm Shop and Quickes Farm Kitchen* will be open all day for refreshments, and joining the farm team will be Moonridge Farm, Mole Valley Farmers and NFU for a whole day of celebrations.
