The Donkey Sanctuary is working in partnership with the Jurassic Coast Trust to hold “Dinosaurs & Donkeys”, a family-friendly day out on Wednesday 27 July.

The day will commence at The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth at 9:45am, with a leisurely guided walk through fields and woodlands to the beach at Weston Mouth, home to spectacular Triassic-era cliffs that form part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. There will then be beach games, followed by a walk back to the Sanctuary.

In the afternoon, there’ll be Jurassic Coast-themed activities like plaster fossil painting and dinosaur colouring-in, as well as time for some donkey interaction. Tickets for the day are £5 per person with the proceeds being split between the two charities.

Wildlife and Conservation Coordinator, Ruth Angell from The Donkey Sanctuary says, “We love having the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site on our doorstep and are very excited about our fun-filled day with Go Jurassic! Rangers, discovering fossils, dinosaurs and of course our lovely donkeys.”

Guy Kerr from the Jurassic Coast Trust says, “We are delighted to be collaborating with The Donkey Sanctuary for our first Go Jurassic! Rangers event of the summer. We’re hoping the combination of donkeys and dinosaurs will be a hit with our young members, and will help them and their families to appreciate the incredible beauty and diversity of the Jurassic Coast.”

The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth is open seven days a week from 9am till dusk. Admission and parking is free. It holds events and open days throughout the year and all proceeds go towards The Donkey Sanctuary’s work in the community and worldwide.
