MULTI-MILLION pound attraction Seaton Jurassic has scooped a major architecture award for the best leisure and hospitality project of the year.
The flagship centre, designed by Plymouth firm Form Design, cost £4 million to build and has smashed visitor expectations in the year since it was opened.

East Devon District Council and LED are proud to announce that Seaton’s new Jurassic themed adventure golf course at Seafield Gardens, is now ready for play and will be opened officially at 10.30am on Friday 7 April, although people will be able to play on it from 1 April 2017.
Built on the site of the former putting green, the course’s eye-catching design features plenty of fun Jurassic themed course decorations and timber or stone obstacles, in the shape of stone fossils, dinosaur bones, dinosaur eggs, rocks/boulders and fossil style edging of the golfing areas.

The Donkey Sanctuary is working in partnership with the Jurassic Coast Trust to hold “Dinosaurs & Donkeys”, a family-friendly day out on Wednesday 27 July.
The day will commence at The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth at 9:45am, with a leisurely guided walk through fields and woodlands to the beach at Weston Mouth, home to spectacular Triassic-era cliffs that form part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. A popular stretch of the South West Coast Path has been reopened ahead of the main walking season, with a new route through Natural England’s Axmouth to Lyme Regis Undercliffs National Nature Reserve.

A dozen mascots took part in the inaugural tournament, held at Ladram Bay Holiday Park’s new Jurassic Adventure Golf course.

Last week’s meeting of all partners involved in Seaton’s regeneration welcomed the progress being made while expressing commitment to continue to drive the town’s regeneration forward.
