Run or Dye - the world's most colourful 5k
Run or Dye, the World’s most colourful 5km will be coming to Exeter on Saturday 30th May for a colour-filled 5km run in the stunning grounds of Great Fulford House. The Fulford family will welcome runners of all ages and abilities, taking part in the most colourful party the Great House has ever seen.
Nearly 500 people have already entered into Exeter Run or Dye with participants encouraged to run, jog or walk to the finish line, getting covered head-to-toe in colour as they go. Four Dye Zones throughout the route will ensure there’s no getting away from the all-encompassing and full-on brilliance of the most colourful 5km in the World.
Known for the BBC Three reality series, Life is Toff, Great Fulford is one of Devon's most historic houses, originally a Domesday manor which has been the home of the Fulford family since at least 1190. The house and gardens are set with extensive parkland, and overlook the stunning Great Lake. The Great Fulford estate extends to over 3,000 acres.
Francis Fulford said; “I am delighted to host a Run or Dye event here. I admit - having spent most of my school days doing my best to skive off cross-country runs I remain slightly baffled that people actually enjoy it and do it for fun. Fortunately though, lots of people seem now to disagree with me so all I can say is - vive le difference - and hope a lot of people come along to enjoy the landscape and have a lot of fun.”
Inspired by the ancient Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the ‘Festival of Colours’, Run or Dye gives runners, walkers and all speeds in-between, the opportunity to experience and celebrate in full colour the thrill of the Festival and introduce the idea of ‘living life on purpose’. Participants can run dressed in white and run ready or their favourite and most extravagant costumes. As part of registration all participants will receive a goody bag with their white t-shirt, their very own dye packs and plenty more to get geared up for the most colourful 5km ever experienced.
After crossing the finish line, runners, and spectators, can celebrate in the world famous Dye Festival as the full force of the brilliant colours are blasted all around. The explosion of dye ensures that this really is the most colourful 5km in the world!
