Brahms – Ein deutsches Requiem
Exeter Philharmonic Choir with The Sinfonietta
Directed by Andrew Millington
Saturday 16 March 2013
Exeter Cathedral: 7.30 pm

When Brahms wrote his German Requiem, critics considered it the fulfilment of Schumann's prophecy that Brahms was a genius. The music and spiritual themes of Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem make it one of the most beloved pieces in the choral repertoire. The work sets the mass in German for soprano, baritone, choir and orchestra. Exeter Philharmonic Choir are very excited about performing the work again.

Concert goers can make the evening even more special by joining the Supper Club which offers a reserved front or premium nave seat in the Cathedral for the concert with a pre-concert two course supper at ABode Exeter at the Royal Clarence Hotel, located a short walk from the Cathedral. The Club meets at 5.45pm for 6.00pm, giving participants plenty of time to enjoy a gourmet meal with other members before the performance.
