Liederkranz Germania Choir and Exeter Children's Orchestra Joint Concert
Liederkranz Germania Choir and Exeter Children’s Orchestra
2015 is the 50th anniversary of twinning between Exeter and the German city of Bad Homburg and to celebrate this event a special concert has been arranged with the Liederkranz Germania Choir and Exeter Children's Orchestra. The Liederkranz Germania Choir with around 80 active members is based in the village of Ober-Erlenbach just outside Bad Homburg and dates back to 1842. Their repertoire is wide-ranging including folk, gospel and classical. They frequently travel abroad and this will be their third time in Exeter. The Exeter Children's Orchestra with over 100 children drawn from local schools has been going since the 1970s and their repertoire is equally wide-ranging. In 2011 they were the recipients of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.
