QUEEN fans in the Exeter area have been given an unexpected opportunity to see one of the UK’s leading tributes to the legendary rock band.

Queen II, a Sheffield-based band who have toured the UK and Europe since 2009, will be performing at Tiverton Golf Club, Tiverton, on Saturday 25 April.

Their show for members and friends on Friday 24 April sold out within two weeks, prompting the club to organise a second event the following night which is open to everyone.

Queen II have played a New Year’s Eve concert in Moscow, at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix and at other sporting venues like Northampton Saints Rugby Club and Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park stadium.

The band feature Connor McGovern as Freddie Mercury, John Emsley as Brian May, Brad Mitchell as Roger Taylor and Lee Feltham as John Deacon.

They will be recreating all your favourite Queen tracks, including We Will Rock You, Radio Gaga, I Want To Break Free, We Are The Champions and Bohemian Rhapsody.

2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Bohemian Rhapsody, the third highest selling single of all time in the UK, and of iconic album A Night at the Opera.

Jim Bray, social committee chairman at the golf club, said: “We were delighted that the Friday event sold out so quickly and were keen to book a second date to give more people the opportunity to experience Queen II.

“Our tribute shows have been a great success in recent years, including to Elvis, The Beatles and Take That and capped by two sell-out ABBA events last spring.

“We look forward to showing people what a great venue we have, and that we have so much more to offer than one of the best golf courses in Devon.”

Doors open at 7pm and food will be available until 9.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 and are available from the club bar. Alternatively, call Jim Bray on 07425 133606 or e-mail him at tgcsocial@hotmail.co.uk.
