Princesshay has announced Living Options Devon as its charity of the year for 2019. The Devon-based charity works to ensure that people with disabilities and Deaf people have the opportunity to live the life they choose.

Living Options will be launching the partnership on 8th February 2019 in Princesshay where its ‘See Hear On Wheels’ bus will be in the centre.

Living Options Devon supports more than 6,000 disabled and Deaf people every year through advocacy, engagement services, training, volunteering opportunities, outreach projects and accessible support services.

Diana Crump, CEO of Living Options Devon, said, “We are thrilled to be Princesshay’s chosen Charity of the Year 2019. Living Options Devon believes that accessibility matters and we welcome the opportunity to share and demonstrate this message with the South West. The funds raised by Princesshay will enable us to continue supporting people with disabilities and Deaf people to live the life they choose. We look forward to working in partnership with Princesshay during 2019.”

Living Options Devon is a user-led organisation meaning it has a first-hand understanding of the issues facing disabled and Deaf people.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director said: “We’re looking forward to be working with Living Options both to raise valuable funds and to increase awareness around accessibility. Accessibility is essential for us and we strive to make the centre as accessible as possible but there is always more we can be doing and we are keen to learn from Living Options.”
