City firm supports Hospiscare
Another success story for recently expanded city-based Bluegrass Computer Services.
Their 24/7 support 365 days per year has gained another client closer to home – Exeter’s much loved Hospiscare, a local adult hospice charity, providing end of life care and support for patients diagnosed with any type of terminal illness and their families, in Exeter, East and Mid Devon.
The company, based at Pynes Hill, is now providing round the clock computer support to the charity’s hard working teams in their 30 locations in and around Devon.
Chris Thomas, Bluegrass Managing Director said working with Hospiscare was particularly special.
‘We like to work with our clients as trusted partners and no more so than with Hospiscare.,’ he said. ‘We are working on a three year strategy with them to provide the best possible service in an ever-changing world.
‘Nearly every family has experienced some dealing with cancer or terminal illness, and ours is no exception. So when a Hospiscare nurse contacts us with technical difficulties in the middle of the night, we know that he or she is likely to be with a very ill person and their family.
‘We realise that the nurses will need quick answers in difficult situations. As that service provider, every one of our team respects that.’
Hospiscare’s Finance and IT Director Andrew Randall said the Bluegrass team had reviewed their systems, resolved longstanding issues and provided a robust and secure service.
‘Now we have a clear programme for our IT services supported by a flexible, involved and proactive IT support provider,’ he said. ‘I regularly receive compliments from users about the service they provide.’
Bluegrass has been steadily going from strength to strength in recent years, now employing 20 staff to deliver computer support, cloud solutions, advising on business continuity, anti virus, telephony, broadband and hosting. The company recently moved to larger premises at Courtenay House in Pynes Hill and recruited extra staff to accommodate the increased workload.
‘Our 24/7 service is increasing rapidly because of demand and the nature of certain businesses that need that kind of support, continued Mr Thomas. ‘We look after more than a dozen businesses on this basis with inquiries coming in all the time.’
Recently Bluegrass won substantial business from the Rigby Group, an international parent company for a £1.8 billion portfolio of businesses across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. They also support other Rigby Group businesses including Coventry Airport and Capital Air Charter based in Exeter. Another recent client has been the Eden Hotel Collection including eight hotels across five counties, all needing round the clock support.
