Exeter Chiefs parking initiative raises over £1,600
Exeter Chiefs and Ashfords LLP have recently combined forces making Ashfords' car park on the Exeter Business Park available for the park-and-ride service to the Exeter Chiefs stadium at Sandy Park. Exeter Chiefs run the service but have donated a generous £1,650 from the parking fees which Ashfords has put towards their fundraising total for their charity of the year, Parkinson's UK.
Susan Bennett, Facilities Manager at Ashfords LLP commented: "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Chiefs with their charity donations for using our car park. With Sandy Park having limited car parking spaces, our Exeter office is situated in an ideal location for the park-and-ride service provided by the club, allowing people to catch the bus to the stadium."
Graham Cridland, Partner at Ashfords LLP, said: "We sponsor three of the Chiefs' players, so are delighted to provide this support to the club and to fans coming to the matches. As a firm we are always on the look-out for new and standout ways to support our local communities and allowing the Exeter Chiefs to run their park-and-ride service from our office car park has been a great success. The donation to our charity of the year is a very welcome bonus and greatly appreciated."
Exeter Chiefs Deputy CEO, Keiron Northcott commented: "The support from Ashfords has been tremendous and we are very happy to be working closely with them as the match day park-and-ride is essential to give easy access to the stadium for our supporters. We are also very pleased that on the back of this, Ashfords' charity is benefitting so it is a real win-win situation."
