Exeter city centre will be full of festive cheer this Christmas courtesy of the Exeter Business Improvement District (BID). Starting from the 24th November, festive entertainers will be taking to the streets of Exeter to entertain shoppers.

The Winter Fairy, Betty Twinkle, the Bouncing Elves and many more will be appearing in the heart of the city every Thursday and Sunday until 22nd December. Dressed in enchanting light up costumes you won’t miss them as they walk around the centre with music, magic displays, balloon art and juggling shows.

The countdown to Christmas in Exeter got underway with the Christmas Lights Switch On which took place on Thursday 17th November. A brand new lighting scheme provided by Exeter BID illuminates the city centre, so visitors can follow the lights and explore the different stores and restaurants available as they go.

The Christmas Lights Switch On also marked the start of late night shopping, with selected stores staying open until 9pm, so shoppers have even longer to find the perfect gifts for Christmas.

Craig Bulley, CEO of Exeter BID Company, said “We are extremely happy to be playing our part in the festivities in Exeter once again. With extra Christmas lights adding sparkle to the streets of Exeter and the festive street entertainers spreading Christmas cheer, Exeter will be the primary destination for celebrating Christmas in the South West.”
