Exeter Chiefs fly-half Gareth Steenson says his side are fully focused, as they prepare their visit to Wasps in the European Champions Cup Quarter final.

Steenson has been ever present in the Chiefs rise in recent years and has praised the hard work of the club, which has seen them qualify for their first European quater-final.

He said: “We’ve worked really hard to get into this position, it’s a fixture we’re really looking forward to.”

The Irishman says the Sandy Park club are confident going into the match, against a very much in form Waps side, particularly after easing past Worcester Warriors 50-12 at the weekend.

He said: “We’ve been going quite well with a good result at the weekend, leading into what we hope will be a big performance.”

With Wasps just two points behind the Chiefs in the Premiership, Rob Baxters men know they are in for a tough afternoon, especially as Wasps will be looking to get revenge on Exeter after being beaten 41-27 when the two sides last met.

With that in mind Steenson is wary of their opponents, he continued: “We are aware they’re going very well at the minute, and that will make for a really good game of Rugby.”

With the Chiefs in hot try scoring form themselves Steenson has urged his side to continue their attacking form, he added: “We’ve got to go up there with the attitude that its going to be a big physical challenge.

“We want to go out and put in as good of a performance as we possibly can, with a good physical edge and we will see how we go.”

Exeter Chiefs match with Wasps is on Saturday, kick-off 3:15pm.
