Brewin Dolphin passes one billion pound mark
Brewin Dolphin’s Devon and Cornwall based wealth management team is celebrating 10 years of continuous growth in the region with the announcement that it now manages more than one billion pounds of clients’ investments.
During that time, staff numbers have grown from just 8 people in Exeter with less than £180 million under their care to a current complement of 37 spread out over three locations in Plymouth, Truro and Exeter.
“With twenty investment professionals, we have built an unrivalled network across the region in terms of both scale and regional coverage that gives our clients access to cutting edge wealth management,” said Head of Office, Tim Walker. “Reaching the billion-pound milestone is a huge achievement for the whole team and I would like to thank our loyal clients and fellow professionals who have all been incredibly supportive.”
That support from others in the professional community was evident when Brewin Dolphin won the ‘Best DFM (Discretionary Fund Manager) in the South West’ title at the prestigious 2017 Citywire Wealth Manager Regional Stars Awards in March. Judged on the ratings financial planners give to discretionary firms based on the quality of their service and investment proposition, Citywire’s accolades are highly respected within the industry.
To achieve further accelerated growth, Brewin Dolphin’s offices in Devon and Cornwall have recently merged into a single, unified structure under Tim Walker, as head of office.
“Technology enables us to work as one team across three sites - combining all the benefits of experience, scale and shared expertise with a truly local personal service,” said Exeter-based Tim. “Clients are at the heart of everything we do and creating investment portfolios for them that reflect their own ambitions and aspirations is a genuine pleasure. The scale of resource we can offer is used on improving the service we provide and I’m very proud of the growth achieved.”
In addition to being a valuable supplier of high quality jobs in the region, Brewin Dolphin helps local communities through charity fundraising and sponsorship – Exeter Cathedral, Children’s Hospice South West, Plymouth Round Table and Truro’s Hall for Cornwall have all been recent beneficiaries.
The company also runs the South West Charity Network – a forum for meeting and exchanging ideas – and invests more than £100 million on behalf of regional charities.
