A defunct bodyshop on the Finnimore Estate in Ottery St Mary has been transformed into state of the art offices after a major refurbishment programme.

Local entrepreneur Stuart Phillips and his team have given the old Alansway building a new lease of life, and it is now an impressive head office for four businesses; Coverstructures Commercial, RMC Build, Tickety-Boo Retail and Coverstructures Property.

Stuart, who lives in the town with his family, took possession of the building in January before renovating it into spacious, open plan offices and meeting rooms.

He said: “Getting the building ready to be moved into at the earliest opportunity was a real test of our skills – but everyone rose to the challenge and I’m delighted with the end result.”

20 staff are permanently based in the offices, including administration, accounts, estimating and purchasing for the four businesses. In total, the four businesses employ around 100 full and part-time staff, including site teams and Tickety-Boo coffee shop employees.

Stuart says that he has exciting plans for the remaining space and will reveal more later in the year. In the meantime, the highly anticipated extension at Tickety-Boo is set to open to customers mid-September.
