Housebuilder makes key appointment in the south west

Five star housebuilder Barratt Developments has appointed Matt Bennett as finance director for its Exeter-based operations which builds homes under the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands.

Matt has extensive experience working on the finance side of large companies with spells at Rotork, FlyBe, Sony PlayStation and Rank Group on his CV and said he is enjoying transferring his expertise to the housing sector.

“Finance knowledge and skills can be used across industries and my wide-ranging industry experience means I can bring different ideas to the housebuilder and ensure we operate best practice in the division,” said Matt.

Matt said he has joined the housebuilder at a fascinating time for the industry. “Demand for new homes in the south west is strong and despite some Brexit uncertainty, we are committed to long term investment in the region with a number of key new developments launching at the moment,” he said.

Barratt Homes managing director Paul Moran said he was delighted to have Matt as part of the team in Exeter.

“Matt brings great experience to Barratt from a wide range of great companies and is already making a difference to our processes and procedures which benefit everyone,” said Paul.

Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes recently launched Minerva - new developments on the outskirts of Exeter and is set to launch new homes in Plymouth, Ivybridge and Looe before the end of the year.
