Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants has announced that partner and head of its audit team, Shona Godefroy, has been promoted as the firm's new deputy managing partner.

Shona takes her new role at the same time she celebrates 10 years with the firm, which has more than 250 employees across Devon and Somerset, having joined from Big Four accountancy firm E&Y in 2007.

As well as taking even more responsibility for the strategic direction of Thomas Westcott and day to day management decisions, Shona will remain as the firm's head of audit and retains her role as partner overseeing graduate recruitment, training and marketing.

Shona said: "Following our mergers with Butterworth Jones and Parkhurst Hill, as well as our elevation into the UK Top 50 of the country's best-performing accountancy firms, we are looking to further consolidate our place in the market, generate more growth, but most importantly continue to provide our clients with a first class service."
