Thomas Westcott shortlisted British Accountancy Awards accolade
Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants, which has a team of approximately 250 staff across Devon and Somerset, has been shortlisted for "Mid Tier Firm of the Year" at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards, the profession's annual "Oscars" event.
Thomas Westcott's entry for "Mid Tier Firm of the Year", a category for firms with turnover between £3m and £25m, was judged on how the firm delivers significant value to its clients across all service areas and on how the services it provides have been fundamental in enabling clients to achieve their own business goals.
Other key criteria for the judges included profitability and growth, professionalism and people and community.
The last 18 months have been transformational for Thomas Westcott, with back to back mergers with firms in Devon and Somerset creating the South West's very own independent "accountancy powerhouse" and propelling it into the Top 50 of the UK's leading accountancy practices for the first time ever.
"A combination of creativity, vision, planning and of course a lot of hard work have proved to be a winning formula," said Richard Thomas, Chairman of Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants.
"To be recognised on a national platform such as the shortlist for the British Accountancy Awards is itself a tremendous accolade and demonstrates that our firm, based here in the South West, is more than capable of matching any in the country."
He added: "Our core values are to provide the highest quality services to our clients and create the very best working environment for people seeking long and rewarding careers in accountancy, both of which have been recognised in our firm's inclusion on the shortlist for this award.
"I would like to thank all of our hard-working partners and staff who continue to provide such excellent services to our growing client-base."
The winners of the British Accountancy Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony held in the London Hilton on October 13.
