It will be five years on 10 August since Adam succumbed to bowel cancer.

The charity set up in his name to raise awareness of bowel cancer in the young and help promote a healthy lifestyle through football continues to work hard to achieve its aims.

Since we began we have helped over 5,000 children through supporting PowerChair football in Devon, Downs Syndrome football in Devon, FA Junior Football Leaders Awards in Devon, Somerset and Herefordshire. We have also supported over 100 junior football teams in all of the three counties Adam played in.

We have worked in partnership with ‘Know the Score’ to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer and are currently distributing leaflets to pubs and restaurants highlighting the symptoms and raising awareness.

Yeovil Town FC, Hereford FC and Exeter City FC are doing much to celebrate Adams life and remember him in forthcoming matches.

We are encouraging individuals and businesses to allow staff to wear a football shirt to work on Monday 10 August to remember Adam, and to Text STAN09 (that’s zero nine) £3 to 70070 – or an amount of your choice.

During the last five years we have had many supporter who have challenged themselves with marathons, half marathons, swims, walks, football matches, bike rides and ultra-marathons. Some people have organised quizzes, parties, dances, dinners and auctions to raise funds. Others have donated items for auction and money from personal events. We are always humbled by what our friends, family and supporters do in Adam’s name and are always very grateful.

We have worked very closely with Exeter City Football in the Community facilitating many courses for disabled and special needs children. We have also worked with Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust who have run FA Leaders Awards for us. We will be continuing to work closely with both clubs in the future helping youngsters get on the first rung of the coaching ladder and working with disabled and special needs groups.

Hereford FC remembered Adam at their match on 1 August against Hull U18’s and members of the family will be there to represent the Foundation.

Saturday 8 August will see Exeter City FC play Yeovil Town FC, where a minute’s applause will be held on the 7th and 9th minutes (Adams numbers for Yeovil & Exeter). Exeter and Yeovil supporters will battle it out at Topsham FC at 11am for the Memorial Trophy so please come down and support them.

You can Text STAN09 to 70070 anytime with your donations, or you could challenge yourself to take part in the Great West Run 0n Sunday October 18th with Team Stanno. Join Adam’s Dad and sister and over 20 other friends and supporters in this great local event.
