The arrival of Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Day/Mardi Gras is the prelude to Easter and a traditional indication that spring is on the way.
This year the celebrations are a bit late in the season but spirits will be running high at Gourmandine, Exeter's home of authentic Crepes.
Located just between Exeter Cathedral Green and Princesshay, the team at Gourmandine are looking forward to flipping pancakes all day and satisfying the city's insatiable appetite for the tasty treats.
This year Prinesshay is hosting the World Pancake Racing Championships, and of course Team Gourmandine are the early favourites.
The race runs starts at 12.30pm with prizes awarded at 1.15pm.
This year’s event is raising money for popular local charity Dream-A-Way and you can sponsor Team Gourmandine either at the event or in the Bistrot any time beforehand.
On Tuesday (4 March), Gourmandine will be open all day from 9.30am, and all crepe/pancake orders will be benefit from a 10% discount adding to the festive atmosphere.
