Exeter care home celebrates National Dog Day
Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter invited the local community and their pooches into their home to celebrate National Dog Day on August 25th, without a doubt one of the best days of the year!
Residents and staff put together Doggy Party Bags which included a variety of yummy treats and tennis balls, and the Chef made some delicious cakes and biscuits for the humans. Everyone sat together in the garden having a wonderful time. Lots of cuddles were had and lots of treats were given to the lucky pooches.
General Manager Julie said: “We reached out to our local community to invite them and their wonderful doggies into our home and we received such a great response. Our residents love animals, especially dogs, so when we knew that National Dog Day was coming up, we couldn’t wait to celebrate. Our residents were besotted by all of the dogs that visited and they were able to have lots of cuddles. We are very grateful to all of the lovely people who gave up some of their time to come along and make our residents smile.”
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
We’re making our homes as safe as possible and will ensure that all new residents and staff are vaccinated before moving in or working in our homes. Please do give us a call on 01392 357 270 if you are looking for care or need any further help.
