Firefighters tackle Cullompton garage fire
Fire crews were called to a blaze in Cullompton last night.
Three appliances from Cullompton, Middlemoor and Tiverton were mobilised to reports of a garage on fire in Holly Way, Cullompton just after midnight.
On arrival crews discovered a garage attached to a house well alight and made pumps four. It was believed the roof and the house were involved.
A further crew from Tiverton were mobilised with the incident command unit and support vehicle from Honiton.
Crews used four breathing apparatus, one safety jet, two hose reel jets, one positive pressure ventilation fan, one thermal imaging camera and a triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire.
The single storey garage was severely damaged by the fire, the fire had spread to the two storey dwelling and approximately five per cent of the roof was also damaged by the fire.
A conservatory attached to the property was also severely damaged by the fire.
